Weekly Fishing Report (May 29, 2026) — Table Rock Lake
Cranking season is in full swing on Table Rock. Coy Hines' latest weekly report covers what's biting, where to find them, and the exact baits to throw — straight from the boat.
This Week's Conditions on Table Rock
Bass have settled into a strong post-spawn pattern. Coy is marking schooled fish in the 15 to 18 foot range on main-lake points and secondary points wherever bait is holding. Watch your graph — when you see the bait, the fish are usually right under it.
What's Biting and Where
- Crankbait bite, 15–18 ft — main-lake and secondary points anywhere bait is stacked. Deeper-diving cranks are the play.
- Topwater window early — long tapering flats and main-lake points from first light to roughly 9 a.m. After that, fish drop back down.
- Shaky head all day — main-lake and secondary points, working the inner sections. Steadier producer than topwater.
- Glide baits still in play — the big-bite window isn't closed. Bigger profiles upgrade your limit.
Lures & Techniques
Deep Cranking (15–18 ft)
A Strike King 6XD on a 5:1 or 6:1 baitcaster gets you to the depth where the bait is stacking. A Falcon Low Rider Cranker 2 (7'6" medium heavy, medium-fast tip) is Coy's rod of choice — slower gear ratio means less wrist fatigue on a long day of cranking.
Topwater Window — Bone & Sexy Shad
The Heddon Super Spook Jr in bone is the go-to right now. Switch to sexy shad when the water cleans up a hair. The Jr (3-inch) matches the bait size on the lake. Walk it across long tapering points and main-lake points first thing in the morning.
Shaky Head — Magnum Finesse Trick Worm
The bread-and-butter all week: a Zoom Magnum Trick Worm (or a Magnum Finesse Worm) in watermelon candy or green pumpkin on a shaky head. Any quality shaky head jig will do — drag, hop, deadstick on the pause. When the topwater bite cools off, this is the rod you pick up.
Glide Baits — The Big-Bite Card
The glide-bait bite isn't over. Coy specifically called out Mag Drives as a way to upgrade your limit. We've been moving them fast — ask Wes at the shop about size and color.
Rod & Reel Setup for Deep Cranking
- Rod: Falcon Low Rider Cranker 2 — 7'6", medium heavy, medium-fast.
- Reel: 5:1 or 6:1 gear ratio (slower is better — saves your shoulder).
- Line: 12–15 lb fluorocarbon for the depth range.
