Whether you choose to employ one technique at a time or all four in one cast, KARASHI quickly lives up to its namesake (a spicy Japanese mustard), delivering just the right hit of flavor to trigger the bite.

• i-motion: employ a super-slow retrieve just fast enough to keep the target depth range. The defenseless wobbling action evokes injured bait, triggering bites from opportunistic feeders.
• Twitching: work in a twitch of the rod to set the KARASHI darting sub-surface, exhibiting an agile dart that triggers reaction bites from followers.
• Dog-walk: a rhythmic twitch on the surface will deliver an irresistibly smooth dog-walking action. Pauses will allow the KARASHI to slow-sink and then walk its way back to the surface like a baitfish rising to escape.
• Bait-busting: with fast, upwards twitches of the rod and a speedy retrieve, the KARASHI walks, splashes and leaps along the surface like fleeing baitfish, triggering devastating strikes from aggressive feeders.

We recommend ultralight spinning or BFS equipment, such as the TRIZA F0-63X AELLO or DESTROYER P5 F1.5-63X POPX STICK to impart proper action, cast accurately and provide the needed “give” to absorb the fight on light line and hooks. To facilitate full dog-walking and twitching action, lighter line is a must when tying directly to the line eye (4-7lb fluorocarbon). For i-motion, heavier line is acceptable but note that heavier line will eventually overpower the bait’s subtle shimmy. If you’re targeting surface/twitch action primarily, a small split ring or snap can provide greater freedom of movement.

KARASHI is equipped with a tinsel-dressed hook to increase visual appeal and stabilize i-motion swimming.
